Realizing the gravity of the situation, Lord Shiva ordered his servants to find a head, and when they couldn't find a human head, they returned with the head of a baby elephant. Lord Shiva then placed the elephant's head on Ganesha's body, reviving him. Since then, Ganesha has been worshipped as the remover of obstacles, and his blessings are sought before starting any new endeavor.
