Sajid Khan, an Indian actor and singer, was born in poverty in the Bombay slums and eventually became the adopted son of a Bollywood filmmaker.

He starred in two Indian films, Mother India and Son of India, both of which received Academy Award nominations.

Later on, he achieved success in international films and TV shows in North America, the Philippines, and the United Kingdom, including Maya and its TV adaptation.

During the late 1960s and early 1970s, he became a well-known teen idol in North America and the Philippines.

Originally from the slums of Bombay, India, Sajid was a struggling child before being noticed by Bollywood filmmakers.

He began his acting career as a child in the Academy Award-nominated film Mother India.

Despite being relatively unknown at the time, Sajid made a significant impact with his performance in the movie, earning praise for his work.

He was later adopted by Mehboob Khan and his wife, and went on to star in Son of India, Mehboob Khan's final film following his debut in Mother India.

Although Son of India did not perform well at the box office, Sajid's acting in the film was highly acclaimed by critics.

After his father's passing, Sajid Khan relocated to the United States to pursue his career further.
