Pongal is celebrated annually in mid-January, coinciding with the Tamil month of Thai. In 2025, the festival will span four days:

• January 14: Bhogi Pongal

• January 15: Thai Pongal

 • January 16: Mattu Pongal

 • January 17: Kaanum Pongal

The origin of Pongal can be traced back to ancient agricultural practices in Tamil Nadu. It is believed that the festival has been celebrated for over a thousand years, symbolizing gratitude to nature and the agricultural community's hard work.
